Welcome to Plant&Leaf and our range of family grown plants. The first photo serves as a representative display, showcasing the beauty of a mature plant. The second photo provides a sample of a single plant from the current batch available. Please note the Pot size displayed on the heading of each product.
All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.
Epipremnum, commonly known as Devil's Ivy or Pothos, is a popular houseplant appreciated for its easy care and ability to thrive in various conditions. Here are some tips to keep your Epipremnum healthy:
-
Light: Epipremnum can tolerate a wide range of light conditions, from low to bright indirect light. However, it thrives best in bright, indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight as this can scorch the leaves.
-
Watering: Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's better to err on the side of underwatering. Water thoroughly when you do water, and ensure that excess water can drain away freely from the pot.
-
Humidity: Epipremnum can tolerate normal household humidity levels, but it appreciates slightly higher humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves occasionally or placing a humidifier nearby, especially during dry winter months.
-
Temperature: Keep your Epipremnum in a warm environment. It prefers temperatures between 18°C to 29°C. Avoid placing it in drafty areas or near air conditioning vents during the colder months.
-
Soil: Use well-draining potting soil. A mix formulated for houseplants or a blend of potting soil, perlite, and peat moss works well. Repot your Epipremnum when it outgrows its current pot, typically every 1-2 years.
-
Fertilizing: Feed your Epipremnum with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength during the growing season (spring and summer) every 4-6 weeks. Reduce or cease fertilization during the winter months when growth slows down.
-
Pruning: Regularly prune your Epipremnum to control its size and shape. This will encourage bushier growth and prevent it from becoming leggy. You can propagate cuttings from the pruned stems to grow new plants.
-
Pests and Diseases: Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, mealybugs, and scale insects. Wipe down the leaves with a damp cloth regularly to keep them clean and discourage pests. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
By following these care tips, you can enjoy a thriving Epipremnum plant in your home or office space.
